What can you protect through patent law?

Have you come up with a unique invention, a real gap in the market? What can you protect?

The term “new” is of great importance for a patent. If you have already shown, sold or promoted your invention, you will no longer be able to obtain any rights. Absolute confidentiality is therefore a necessity for applying for a patent.

Where does a patent right apply

In general, we recommend that you protect the invention in the country where you are located and where your main markets are. In consultation with you, we draw up an optimal country coverage, with the corresponding registration route. Of course we are fully aware of the ins and outs of each route, so that we can tailor every patent application for you.

How long is a patent right valid?

After applying for a patent through our patent office, a maximum protection period of 20 years usually applies. You have a decision point every year to uphold the right. We will of course inform you well in advance of the expiry of the term period.
